About ICHP

Child playing with blocksThe Institute for test Child Health Policy is a unique, multi-disciplinary academic unit of the University of Florida. Our work centers on issues of health and health care for children and youth. Faculty at the Institute for Child Health Policy maintain joint appointments in the College of Medicine Department of Pediatrics and Department of Epidemiology and Health Policy Research. Institute faculty and staff are engaged in multiple research and evaluation studies as well as policy and program initiatives throughout the College of Medicine and the Health Sciences Center. Because we are an academic unit at the University of Florida, students working at the Institute for Child Health Policy are provided with integration into new and existing research, evaluation, and policy related projects.

Leadership and Innovation

The Institute has a long-standing history as a local, state, national, and international resource for communities, universities, governments, and other organizations seeking guidance about issues of health, health services delivery, quality of care, and the implementation of evidence-based health policy related to children and youth. Together, we maintain a leadership role by advising researchers, program directors, and policy makers; disseminating policy analyzes; and maintaining strong ties with leading health organizations.
